Jonathan Carroll has had an impactful background in the Illinois state legislature across four terms. As a representative of the 57th District, he has worked to enact transformative policy in bipartisan areas such as strengthening checks on gun purchases and ensuring that the public is safe when it comes to food-borne allergies. At the same time, Jonathan Carroll has handled a number of pivotal labor and employment matters, and worked to bring capital allocations to his district that enabled the completion of key infrastructure projects.

Mr. Carroll’s professional activities have extended to founding and leading companies such as IEP Experts and Carroll Educational Group, Inc. Providing multifaceted educational support services, he focuses on the specific personal, professional, and academic needs of those with cognitive disabilities and issues such as ADD/ADHD. He coordinates with teachers and schools in ensuring that resources and training provided are curriculum-relevant, and he regularly communicates with parents.

Mr. Carroll’s achievements in the public sphere have earned him recognition such as Legislator of the Year from the Illinois Psychiatric Society, as well as a similar distinction from the Illinois Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Active on the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee, Jonathan Carroll is a longtime Portes Foundation board member and contributes to efforts on the disease research and prevention front.
